**** Research and Power

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ UP: <[LINK]>
Using the model of power relations developed above <[LINK]> researchers enter into certain relations of power with their subjects. Beliefs enable authors to assign attributes to entities. Material conditions allow them to do so in print. The power relations of authorial beliefs are manifested in authorial assignment of the object of study to subject position. With this in mind, here are a few of the power relations in the domain of beliefs. No claims are made about the validity of the beliefs or on what evidence they are grounded--this is only a consideration of possible effects of the relation that power allows. All of the example below are framed on the template presented in <[LINK]>.
